I am a Vegetarian/Pescatarian philosophy professor living in Chicago. Food has always been a passion of mine so why not share my thoughts with the rest of the world. I have been focused on eating ethically, yet affordably, which is thought to be challenging but it doesn’t have to be challenging.
Chicago is a wonderful “foodie” city but for what kind of foodie? The meat-eating kind? I share my perspective navigating the city as an ethical foodie meaning that I choose not to eat sentient beings (beings that can feel pain and pleasure). I am also a philosophy professor so affordability is an issue. I aim to eat delicious foods that are ethical and affordable. This makes my “foodie” experience of Chicago a different and unique kind of foodie experience, a perspective that differs from the “mainstream” Chicago foodie perspective.
I also do diversity trainings, presentations, write for Logan Squarist, and academic publications. If you are interested in collaborating or having me speak, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’d love to write for your publication, speak at your campus or organization.
